Perched at the top of Lonsdale, The View is North Vancouver’s brightest event venue. It is a showcase for modern West Coast design with stunning panoramic views of Vancouver’s harbour, the downtown skyline and the North Shore mountains.

This sustainably designed building – one whole wall of which retracts to invite the view inside – features a large outdoor patio and combines reclaimed historical wood beams with sleek, airy finishes and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Whether your dream event, conference or training sessions is for 50 or 250 guests, The View’s open-concept floor plan provides you with the flexibility to make that dream come true.

About Us

BEAUTIFUL

The “View” on Lonsdale came by its name honestly! Located in the North Vancouver School District Education Services Centre at 21st and Lonsdale in North Vancouver, The View occupies the entire top floor and includes a 1200 square foot deck at the south end that provides a glorious panoramic view of the Lower Mainland, the Pacific ocean and beyond! The north end of the floor highlights the North Shore mountains.

The building (opened June 2012) is an architecturally interesting structure, built to LEED standards in a modern West Coast style that artfully combines elements of glass, metal and reclaimed wood. It abuts a charming little park with winding walkways, benches, a play space and a historical stone archway that can be used as a ceremony location. The park is also a curated art space, with a sculpture garden.

Inside, complementing to the 5th floor “View” space, there is a large, attractive lobby space and the Gordon Smith Gallery on the ground floor which can also be rented as additional event spaces.

SUSTAINABLE

The View was built to the LEED Gold Standard, with energy efficiency measures throughout the building, including occupancy sensors, heat pump systems and natural ventilation. Geothermal walls beneath the building, in the park and walkway provide clean heating and “air-conditioning” throughout the building. Rain water “run off” is collected onsite and treated through a vegetated bio-swale incorporated into the landscaping on the site. All rainwater flows to the water feature and bio-swale in Rey Sargent Park. The building also hosts a Lonsdale Energy Corporate “sub-station” that provides energy to neighbouring residential complexes.

FLEXIBLE & FUNCTIONAL

The View can be used as one big space, with even the walls to the deck retracting to create an uninterrupted flow. It can be sectioned off into three distinct spaces for groups of up to 245 people – The Mountain View, The Sky View and The Ocean View.

The building also boasts two levels of secure underground parking for up to 100 vehicles. With two elevators and a dedicated loading bay, load-in and load-out are a breeze.

With wireless Internet throughout the building and a well-equipped kitchen facility, your event or meeting will be a great success!
